Collection Policy

It is of great importance that staff are aware of who is dropping off and collecting children. The following applies:

  • A register is kept of children as they arrive and depart, recording times in and times out.
  • Anybody different to collect a child is recorded in a book for all staff to observe and follow.
  • In the event of somebody arriving to collect a child that is not expected, phone calls will be made to establish if the child can go.
  • Any parents requesting that a child has not got to be collected by an estranged partner, will be asked to provide a court order to say this is an agreed arrangement.
  • Nursery doors open 8.00am, 8.30am and 9.00am; 12.00pm, 4.00pm
  • In the event of continued lateness it will be pointed out to parents the effects of this on the child, lack of insurance this will hopefully rectify the problem should the problem persist a child may be excluded.
  • No child will ever leave the premises unsupervised.
  • There is always a member of staff at the door to welcome parents and children and also to say their farewells.
  • All staff remain vigilant about strangers and strictly do not allow any unfamiliar person into the building.

Should a situation arise whereby, one hour after closure, no contact name/parent can be alerted, two senior staff will remain on the premises with the child and Social Services will be informed.
