We follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum and each and every child is monitored by their Keyworker to ensure that they are developing and learning according to the EYFS curriculum. Keyworkers regularly observe their key children and complete compulsory Observation Records which contain a description of what activity the child was involved in, and how this met the necessary requirements of child development under the EYFS structure. Each child also has a very comprehensive learning journey, which is added to throughout their stay at Blossom Tree, and given to the parents when they eventually move on to Primary School education. Not only are these a lovely keepsake for the child and parents/carers, but they also provide detailed accounts of your child’s development.
In addition to the EYFS, the children also learn basic British Sign Language as not only is it an excellent way for children to communicate with each other and staff, but it’s an invaluable life skill to have and can be carried on in later life.
We also operate a ‘nursery > home’ activity for the Blossoms (2 year olds) whereby they each take turns to take home Tat the Ted and keep a record for the weekend of how they have looked after Tat, where they have been and what they have done. Our Cherries (pre-school) take home a Sign story book and Sign dictionary.
